Private treaty sale listings have been designed with the smaller producer in mind and are set up and can be searched just like the on-line sale catalogs. Internet users need to take advantage of sending private treaty sale information electronically to AHA. Electronic transfer of registration numbers, footnotes and pictures allows for faster turn around time meaning your sale listing will be posted on the web in a more timely manner. To submit information electronically, you will need to download the private treaty template file found below. This can be downloaded as a Microsoft Excel or Lotus spreadsheet.

Filling out the template:
All information marked with an asterisk is required for proper posting of your private treaty listing. All other information is optional except where noted otherwise below.
The template is self-explanatory and is color-coded to aid in completing the template file. To properly fill out the template, type directly over the red and blue instructions. For instance to enter the Ranch/Farm name, click on the field that says "Enter the name of your ranch or farm", and type the information in that field. Please enter all of each type of information in a single field. Once you have entered all of your information, the field will automatically expand to accommodate everything you entered. If you have any additional types of information that no category is provided for, please feel free to insert additional lines where you feel necessary and enter the appropriate data.
When entering the sale lots and reference sires a lot number and registration number is required. Up to 50 words of footnotes may also be included for each lot, but is not required. Reference sires will be charged at the same rate as regular sale lots in your catalog.
What to do with completed templates:
When you have completed filling in your information in the template, save it as a Microsoft Excel or Lotus Spreadsheet. The name of the file should be the same as the member account number that the catalog will be billed (e.g., 7012712.xls). Then email your template file to Catalogs@herfnet.com. We will process your private treaty information and notify you via email when it has been posted. Should we have any questions, we will contact you via email regarding the appropriate course of action. Remember that these listings expire after two months, unless a renewal is requested. Renewal of an existing listing that is unedited is $10 per month. Additions or modifications to an existing listing will be charged at $5 per animal.
